Guppies
At Valiant Martial Arts, our Guppies Program is designed specifically for children ages 3–6. These 30-minute classes combine age-appropriate martial arts activities with games, movement, and character development to help your child build skills that go far beyond the martial arts studio.
At this age, we're not focused on turning your child into a fighter. We're focused on helping them become confident, respectful, responsible, and capable young people.
Each class introduces important life skills and connects them to real-life situations your child experiences at home, at school, and with their friends. As your child learns how to listen, show respect, control their emotions, make good choices, and work with others, they're building a foundation that can benefit them for years to come.
Character development is a major part of our Guppies Program. We want children to understand not only what to do, but why these skills matter in everyday life.

We believe children learn best when they understand how something applies to their everyday lives.
That's why our instructors use real-life examples to help Guppies connect their martial arts lessons to situations they may encounter at home, at school, or while playing with friends. A lesson about listening isn't just about following an instructor's commands—it's about understanding why listening to Mom, Dad, teachers, and other trusted adults is important. A lesson about respect isn't just about bowing or saying "yes, sir" and "yes, ma'am"—it's about how we treat the people around us. A lesson about self-control isn't just about standing still—it's about learning what to do when we're frustrated, excited, or upset.
We're teaching skills your child can take with them long after class is over.
Every Guppies class includes a parent participation portion at the end of class.
This gives parents the opportunity to get involved, practice with their child, and—most importantly—spend quality time together.
It's also a chance for parents to see what their child is learning and reinforce those lessons at home.
Because when parents and instructors work together, children have an even stronger foundation for success.
